ISPM 15 – FAO – International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures
The spread of forestry diseases caused by the import-export of wood packaging, has induced the IPPC - International Plant Protection Convention – to introduce the standard ISPM-15, FAO. According to these rules, each parcel of wood for packaging and wood pallets to export to extra CE countries, has to undergo the Phytosanitary heat treatment. The wood core has to reach the temperature of 56°C and maintain it for 30 minutes, and it is necessary to certify this process before acquiring the IPPC/FAO mark. The local phytosanitary authorities NPPOs (National Plant Protection Organization) are the responsible for the application of the Standard, the inspection of the installations and the compliance of the procedures.

EXPERIENCE FOR FLEXIBILITY
Incoplan experience, gathered designing and manufacturing timber drying kilns, has permitted to realize, in accordance with these rules, special plants for the drying and sterilization process of pallets and of any type of material used in wood packaging. A range that provides personalized solutions according to the ratio quantity/cycle, to the company’s layout and to the available energy resources. Even the size of the heat treatment kilns are flexible and the capacity could vary from 200 to 2000 pallets each kiln. Incoplan can expand any existing kilns and match new ones to any working installations.

STERILIZATION AND DRYING PROCESSES
Incoplan installs a proofed and reliable electronic and sensors system to manage the process and record all the data in order to certify the heat treatment in accordance with the standard ISPM-15. Incoplan proposes an integrated system for the management of HT treatment and drying combined-process that implies a value-added for treated packaging.
Control process in real-time with issue of Legal Report for the certification through Incoplan easy@full.control software. The system has been created and tested in accordance with the Phytosanitary standard regulation. The time process depends on many factors: kiln capacity, wood species and moisture content, climatic condition, heating system type.

HIGH PERFORMACE – LOW ENERGY CONSUMPTION
In order to develop an efficient installation and to conform itself to the standard in use, Incoplan is able to install:

- Hot water plants with gas or biomass boilers;
- Special plants according to customer’s demands.
